How can I remove rust from my Seido knife?Updated 2 months ago

Rust on your Seido knife can be removed using either the Baking Soda Method or the Vinegar Bath Method.

Baking Soda Method:

  1. Baking Soda Paste: First, clean the blade of your knife with a cleaning solution and a cloth instead of water to avoid further rusting.
  2. Create baking soda paste: Mix baking soda with water or lemon juice until it forms a paste.
  3. Scrub with a toothbrush: Apply the paste on a toothbrush and scrub the blade.
  4. Wipe the blade clean: Use a cloth to remove any excess baking powder. Apply mineral oil to the blade for lubrication and protection against future rust.

Vinegar Bath Method:

  1. Pour vinegar into a container: Use white vinegar because it contains acetic acid.
  2. Soak the rusty knife: Submerge the blade in vinegar for five minutes or use a vinegar-soaked paper towel to wrap the blade.
  3. Wipe down the blade: After soaking, wipe the blade. You may use the baking soda or WD-40 method if some rust remains.

Always hand wash your knives with gentle dish soap, avoiding citrus extracts or bleach, rinse, and dry immediately with an absorbent cloth or towel to prevent rust.
